Access Bank’s Digital Innovation Honoured with Financial Inclusion Impact Award at Nexus 2025
Access Bank Plc has been named the winner of the Financial Inclusion Impact Award (Unified) at Nexus 2025 — the flagship customer-experience and financial infrastructure summit organized by Qore.
The recognition spotlights Access Bank’s cutting-edge digital banking platforms, which have significantly expanded access to financial services for previously underserved individuals and small businesses across Africa.
According to the organisers, the bank’s efforts have enabled meaningful participation in the formal financial system for communities that have long been excluded.
On receiving the award, Chizoba Iheme — Group Head DSA & Beta Proposition at Access Bank — said: “We are truly honoured to receive the Nexus Award for Financial Inclusion Impact (Unified).
This recognition reinforces Access Bank’s long-standing commitment to breaking barriers and expanding financial access for individuals and businesses across Nigeria and beyond.”
She added that financial inclusion “is more than a mandate” for the bank — it is a responsibility. She pledged the institution’s continued dedication to designing “innovative solutions that empower underserved communities,” ensuring no one is left behind in the financial ecosystem.
The accolade follows previous wins for Access Bank at Nexus: the Purpose Award in 2023 and the Best Commercial Bank in Technology Adoption Across Africa in 2024.
Beyond the award, the announcement underscores a broader shift in African banking — where digital infrastructure and inclusive design are increasingly central to expanding access.
As fintech and traditional banks deepen collaboration, awards like Nexus 2025 highlight the growing recognition of financial inclusion as both a business imperative and social responsibility.
